When Ashleigh isn’t taking care of patients within the office she spends most of her time with friends, family and her two dogs, Lia (Labradoodle) and Chief (English Bulldog). Those two are her pride and joy! She loves to travel the world and experience new cultures. She is also passionate about volunteering within the local community and abroad. Ashleigh spent a summer in Kathmandu, Nepal where she was able to work with malnourished children and their caretakers to develop a program to ensure basic nutritional needs and educational programs are established. She has also spent time in Sri Lanka working with refugees after the tsunami in 2005. Giving back to others and to the community is one of the reasons she is so passionate in her work of medicine. Ashleigh loves exploring new museums throughout DC, trying out new restaurants, and is a lover of the beach and sunshine.
Born and raised in Maryland, and a lover of seafood and blue crabs, Ashleigh worked for a short period of time in trauma reconstructive plastic surgery, gaining experience in a hospital and clinical setting, as well as being the first assistant in the operating room prior to coming to Congressional OB GYN. She has much experience working with hand injuries, limb salvage, and major reconstructive surgeries after cancer removals and trauma. Prior to attending PA school, Ashleigh had a career in clinical research, specializing in fertility and infectious disease research studies. She is an advocate for public health and believes that prevention is the key to maintaining a healthy population. She has a holistic approach to medicine believing that one’s physical state is greatly impacted by their mental and spiritual awareness. As a women’s healthcare provider it is her goal to ensure patients are taken care of in all aspects with having a great understanding and respect level for all cultures and religious beliefs. Being part of one’s health care team as a provider and viewing her relationship with patients as a partnership is her true passion.
